Walter is an Electrical Engineer and assists in patents and design matters in our engineering team.

Background

Walter graduated from the University of Sydney in 2016 with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications), and in 2019 with a Masters of Philosophy (Engineering and IT). His thesis was conducted on integrated optical phased arrays and high efficient spot-size converting couplers for LIDAR applications. His work during his masters has given him a valuable experience on LIDAR technology, particularly related to the design and simulation of various silicon-on-insulator structures that help in reducing waveguide crosstalk and footprint size, which improves the quality of nanophotonic optical phased arrays. He also had particularly focus on medical device technology, performing various chemical experiments and analysis with various laboratory equipment, as well as the designing device housings which provide support to actuate chemical reactions.
