Trainee Patent Attorney
Electrical/Electronics/ICT Engineering
Halfords IP currently have an opportunity for an Electrical/Electronics/ICT Engineer (or similar) to train as a Patent Attorney.
Qualifications/ Attributes of the Ideal Candidate:
- Superior academic qualifications, preferably PhD in the relevant discipline of Engineering
- Excellent command of the English Language, both verbal and written
- Ability to assimilate and analyse complex information
- Ability to work both individually and in a Team Environment
- Client-focused attitude
- Undertake further tertiary studies to qualify as a Patent Attorney
The Trainee Patent Attorney role:
You would be working under the direct supervision of one or more Partners and be involved in all aspects of a Patent Attorney practice. This includes:
- liaising with inventors/clients, including Startups, Corporates and Academics
- drafting patent specifications
- conducting searches of IP records
- providing patentability, validity and infringement advice
- prosecuting patent applications before the Patent Offices
